Background
Tabernanthalog (TBG) is an Ibogaine derivative. Despite this, TBG lacks recreational value as well as hallucinogenic effects, separating it from the analogue act. This is evidenced by a lack of head twitch in rodent models.[1] TBG lacks concrete data elucidating its mechanisms, but it is thought to influence neurogenesis similarly to a psychedelic.[1] So far, TBG appears a promising candidate both for substance abuse disorders and depression.[2]
